Concept - Sketches
Each house has a tale. A house isn't only bricks, behind those bricks are movements and emotions. The protected houses have a way of designing those movements for the habitant. The functioning and the use of those spaces are somehow written by law.
The user looses some freedom. He cannot choose every single detail of his way of living anymore. some of the actions are already written and there is nothing that can change that.
Those restrictions can lead to frustrations. In my conceptual sketches which I made after my research, I have always a neutral sketch which shows the house as it is and a conceptual one. The conceptual sketch shows the feeling of the habitant towards the house, the emotions behind those bricks.

Fixed in time
In these two concept models, I made a replica of the two chosen buildings: Maison Cauchie and house Roels as they are. Beside that I wrote down the law lines who have an influence on the use in this houses and an new law written by me.
By writing the new law, I wanted to show that the bricks, the spaces within these two buildings stay untouched, but by those changes,a different way of using and living is introduced. My point is to conclude that the habitants or the user of these buildings are very dependent of the law in their way of living. A change in one article can create a whole new movement.
